This is the standard tip angle. Suitable for marking all metals.

Extra length pin provides extra reach for marking futher past the guide foot. Applicable for marking into recesses or where there are obsticales for the the guide foot.

Pin life is dependant on how hard your material is, how hard you are marking and the frequency of use. Companies replacing a pin a year typically mark 350 grade, operating the unit frequently all day.
